Best cycling cities in the world
According to CNN the Dutch city Utrecht is the most bike friendly city in the world. In Utrecht, 50% of all journeys take place by bike. In 2018 a cycle parking with room for 12.500 bikes will be finished and, thanks to seperate cycle lanes families can bike around in the center, no need for helmets or other safety measurements.
On the 2nd place is Sevilla, Spain. Just 8 years ago the government of the Andalucian capital decided to fix the traffic issue in their city. They have established 50 miles of cycle lanes in less than one year and made a bike rental plan.
Montreal in Canada is followed 3rd. This North-American city started in the 80′s with constructing bike paths.
Next is, offcourse, Copenhagen. The Danish capital counts more bikes than people. Berlin, Portland, Tokyo and Bogota are also on CNN’s list.
